What is the voice coil configuration of the sub. Dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm?
Also, what are the specs on your amp?(please specify rms watts and at what ohm)
This way we can further help you pick the right configuration.

Actually...do you have the owners manual? It should tell you in there how to wire them up. Just make sure your subs final impedance matches the impedance of your amp.

This alpine is a Dual 4 ohm and for my amp im going with a Autotek SS390.2
125 watts X 2 @<hidden> 4 ohms
170 watts X 2 @<hidden> 2 ohms
350 watts X 1 @<hidden> 4 ohms bridged
This is just a temporarily amp until i get enough to buy a JL 1000/1

They have a downloadable version of the owners manual on www.alpine-usa.com
it seems that the sub uses jumpers so im sure the manual will be able to tell you clearer how to hook them up than i can.
Good luck and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

wire coils in parallel
one sub on each channel
two channel 2 ohm load. 170 watts each.
they'll sound lousy with that little power going to them, so don't get tempted to compensate for the lack of power by overdriving the amp and setting the gain too high on the amplifier.
all you'll do is cause clipping and damage the speakers and perhaps the amplifier as well.
