Well some of you may have seen that my wife and I cleaned an RV the other night for one of our clients and while automotive detailing is covered in plenty around this area... It would seem that very few do a full detailing of RVs and travel trailers around here. There really only seems to be 2 options around here:
1) Standard wash of exterior and vacuuming of inside (starting @<hidden> $120.00)
2) Full interior detail from an automotive detail shop (Prices in the OMG you've got to be joking range)

Now after talking it over with my wife and the fact that I own an Automotive Accessory shop and a Housekeeping business... And having an RV under our belt (Not to mention the cleaning up of the travel trailer we used to own) under our belts. The next step was to contact my insurance agent... And guess what... The cleaning of the RVs/ Trailers would be covered under not only my Automotive insurance, but also my Housekeeping insurance.
So I guess we are seriously considering this for a full cleaning of these units... guess it's time for me to start pricing power washers. :)

I would do it sounds like good money and the people that own RVs usually have money because they are expensive and expensive to drive. Check out a pressure washer with a honda motor. They seem like the best motors you can buy. Unless you are going to get an electric industrial one.

Do you have to winterize your RV's around there? We do here. That would be a bonus if you could offer that as well. That is, if you wanted to do that and if RV's required it around there. Either way, good for you man.

Sounds like a great idea.

Like a said in the other thread, offering more than one service can be a great idea, especially if you don't have to spend alot of money getting it started (and it sounds like you already have most of you'd need.)

Most of the RV dealers and some of the storage places offer the winterizing services at a pretty reasonable rate so we probably won't step into that, and I don't even think we're gonna have to worry about exterior right now either as most store them at outside lots, but we can let them know that we will be offering that service for when they pull it out of storage.

Sounds like a good option to me, especially if your core business is down. Cleaning an RV is probably easier than a house as its not a full time residence.

Really the hardest part is all the tight spaces... you're really limited on space to move around to clean some spots and luckily we have 4 different sized carpet and upholstery cleaners for getting into some of those small carpeted areas.
Funny thing is our business hasn't really dropped off, but we know it will be coming over this winter as usual, so this may give us a chance to stockpile some funds before that and we may not be as hard pressed after Christmas the way we normally are... I hope :p
