I need to run a 4 Gauge power cable through my firewall - I have an 99' Infiniti I30 - I have not been able to locate any existing punches/holes through my firewall - after looking and looking I am considering drilling through what I believe they call a "clutch plate" my car is automatic there is a diamond shaped piece of plastic on the engine comp & an existing diamond hole through the insullation to the firewall - is this a wise decision - I cannot find anyother way to run this cable - what should I do?

You made sure there were no plugged holes right? Sometimes you can miss them.

Are you able to drill through anywhere? You may have to resort to creating your own hole, be realllllllyyy careful when doing that though.

Make sure that you don't drill through any wires or cables. Also, be sure that you will be able to run the wire in a manner that will clear any pedal mechanisms. this can cause a serious wreck or a fire if something pinches. Also, be sure to use a proper sized hole and add a grommet so you don't get wire chafing and cause a fire.
