Ok guys, cant find anything on how to wire my subs to my amp when I get them. The 1200.1 has the outputs for the speaker wire like so - + - +. I am currently running two subs off the amp so it is no problem. I have purchased a second amp and will be running one sub off of each. How do I wire each amp to the sub to get maximum output? I am getting 12" RE XXX subs. Trying to give them the full 1200 watts. What voice coil setup would you recommend for that? Dual 2 ohm wired down to 1 ohm or dual 1 ohm wired to be 2 ohm. I know these amps are stable at 2 ohm but not sure about 1. Back to the amp, would I run - + - + (wiring out of bolded signs) to each sub, or bridge it so I have - + - + as the brige and then - + - + to the sub? Hope this makes sense
Any help is appreciated
Thanks Chris

it doesnt matter, just make sure the voice coils are wired to 2 ohms or 1 ohm or whatever, the connectors on the outside of the jbl 1200.1 are just so its easier to hook up 2 subs, both connections are really 1 mono inside the amp. Someone else can probably explain it better.

my 1200.1 bp is labeled as - + - + with (-) + - (+) being the outputs for bridged. I guess new Bp's arn't labeled for bridging ?

That isn't bridging it, the BP amps are only 1 channel. I honestly dont see why, even if they are paralleled inside the amp, that you couldn't hook the sub up to any combination of 1 - and 1 +. As far as voice coil configuration, Dual 2 or Dual 1 will both work fine, that amp is stable down to 1 ohm.

Hope you have an upgraded charging system and a new battery.
2 1200.1's are gonna draw alotttttt of current.

Have a 200 amp alt and optima red top already. I think it should be enough.
yeah that should do it, just be careful with volume levels and gains.
if its an option, run at 2 ohms. it will stay a little cooler and sound quality is better.
lastly, make sure you get y spliters and fill all 4 rca inputs on the amp, the volume almost doubles. its a jbl power series amp trick, you can do it with and power bp amp. i have a diagram i think, if you dont understand.

yeah had planned on the 2 ohm for that exact reason, the amp has the same output at 1 or 2, minus well save power. Already have the y splitters in place and hooked up. Only thing that sucks about that, is it makes it really hard to have a clean looking install with 6 y splitters coming off your RCA's to the amps. Pretty sure I have it all hooked up right. Just saving the cash for the subs. Im going to start the install shortly though. Thanks for the info.
