okay, so the PPI art a600.2 I got off ebay died today. It started cutting out and before I could turn off the head unit it stopped. I thought it might of overheated or maybe a wire shook loose, but nope. Everything is strapped down tight, where it belongs, and still no good. When I power up the only thing that happens is the amp emmits a low clicking like sound. Its a very very fast clicking. The power led does not light, nor does the low impediance light.

Well. This hobby still ceases to amaze me. I pulled out the speaker/remote wire(s) plug and undid the power and ground wire from their plug. I took apart the ampl, nothing obviously burnt, no bad smells. All the caps looked fine etc etc. I bent a few pieces that were touching and shouldnt be. Put the cover back on and reconnected everything. re-checked my speaker connections, all good. I turn the power on, everythings good agian. I love/hate this hobby.

maybe its because one of my tweets is bad and that side is showing a different impediance then the other side ? I dont know....who knows ? no one knows, least of all me!

if one tweeter is bad, it could cause a dead short across the coil and put the amp into protection mode.
could also have been a bad ground or a bad wire connection somewhere..
if the amp isn't toasted, that clicking is usually a faulty ground point

amp isnt toasted, but the tweeter wasnt connected when it died. Ground wires are all very secure and connected. maybe there is something wrong with one of my crossovers ?
