As the title suggests I am in the market for a motorcycle. I am looking for an early 2000's model sport or sport touring bike 600cc preferably. If you know of one please post here or PM me. Thanks.

I'm looking to spend in the 4500 to $5000 range. I was approved by the local credit union for $4500 and I'll use cash as a down payment. I have a bike in mind and I might make a deal on it this afternoon. It is a 2003 Suzuki GSXR. Book on it is $5800 and the guy said he would part with it for $4800. It's in really nice condition and has 8k miles. Now I just have to learn how to ride one :bigwink:

I would advise finding a cheap one to learn on. Just to get the concepts down.
THats why i bought the one I got. Plus I refuse to have an actual "crotch rocket" although I am considering a Yamaha VMax for next bike (more than likely).

my first bike was a 2000 suzuki gs500e, pretty easy bike to learn on, rember if you dump a crotch rocket there is alot of fairing to get hurt the one like basstronics' would get hurt to badly if you dump it.
dude i would love to have that bike. i love that style. i just sold my custom 81 cb650 rigid to a guy up in youngstown, ohio. i needed the cash and i had to sell it. i have had a 75 kz400, an 82 650 nighthawk that 81 honda and a 68 triumph bonneville t120r hardtail chopper. now i have nothing....here is what i did to the honda

i love that style of bike. i would kill to have another, i needed the cash but i sold it for 1500 and it was way underpriced because i needed the cash bad. i pulled that thing out of a house that burned and bought it from the original owner and completely rebuilt it and customized it. the only stoch parts were the engine, frame and gas tank...and those recieved custom treatments....if you still got that yamaha when i get some money i would be more than interested....

Yeah its a nice bike for the money.
I want to sell it to afford the one I want. The sale price will be down payment ;)
I should ask more for it though considering all the work that went into it. But I wont take less :p and Im not advertising it to much, just here and another board.

Thanks for your input guys. My friend who is an experienced sport bike rider is going to teach me how to ride it. He is very safe and doesn't believe in doing tricks or being reckless. I'm the same way and just want to ride something that has good pick up and looks fierce. This GSXR will do the trick and for $4500 it will be a great starter bike. I got the lowest interest rate offered by the credit union for motorcycles, so there really isn't much risk involved. I'll probably invest in frame sliders in case of an accidental lay down, but I'm a super save driver and hope that something like that wouldn't happen. For those who are interested I'll post some pics on the bike after I get it next week.
Now if I could just figure out where to put a subwoofer on it..... :thumbsup
