so i'm wondering, has anyone done it/ i want to convert my front windows to power if possible.. i'm not quite sure how to go about diong it if at all possible. i know i could find the motors and such through a junkyard.. its mounting thats got me thrown off. as far as power, if i'd just have to run a small-gauge wire through the door and hook that up to a 12 volt wire that's on when the key is in position... i think/

IMO its not really that tuff depending on your car. if you have a sealed doors it can be a real pain without proper metal working tools. can be done however. my door is not sealed so its very easy to do.

i actually think my door may be sealed, except for the speaker hole. :( don't have metal working stuff so i guess this one may be out. damn.

if the car comes with power windows as an option, it's easy.
you just get the power window parts from a yard, or totaled car, and replace your manual parts with those.
replace cranks with power window rockers, etc.. the rest is just the wiring.

otherwise yoou need to do a little custom work to fit aftermarket motors to the windows etc. bit more work.
I was lucky my car had factory power windows :)

I think those are the switches that you press to get the window to go up and down.

Technically, yes..

When I had my old s10 project I took door panels from an s10 that didnt have power windows (mine did), modded the holes from the window cranks and mounted the power window switches in those...Then I cut the map pocket section out and replaced it with a piece of carpeted 1/4" plywood and mounted my components to that...

It turned out really nice and clean looking!

You could also mount the switches someplace else and stick your tweeter in the exsisting window crank holes....
