Here is some pics from my last truck. I did all the exterior and interior work myself. No, that pic wasn't me. My dad wanted to get away from my mom for a few, so he came out and helped. Bye the way nice work Kiki.

Truck 1999 chevy S10

Head unit = Sony Mobile ES 7850
Processor = Sony Mobile ES 210 eq (all digital x overs and 21 band eq with fiber optic inputs)
Changer = Sony mobile ES CDX 91 (I think that was the model)
The changer and processor were both made to work with top sony deck of the time CDX C90 and C91
Amps = 2 Sony Mobile ES XM 260Gs One on the components and the second bridged at 2 ohms on my sub (380 RMS @<hidden> 14.4 volts)
Front sound stage = Boston Acoustic Pro series 5 1/4 components
Sub = Boston Acoustic Pro series 12.5 inch

Before you even say it, I hate the new sony stuff too. The things I listed above were the last things sony made IMO that were worth a crap. I will say this about that stereo. 90% of the people I told what I had blew it off.

"oh thats it, one 12 and a two chanel 60 watt per chanel amp"
"trucks don't sound good anyways"
"only five speakers, whats that going to do"

Sure was funny to watch their faces when they sat down and i turned it up for the first time. :surprised :banghead DOOOH :surprised

sweet work there.
I don't like trucks much, but that one looks really nice, inside and out.
I wish Sony had kept that Mobile ES line, and stuck to teh elegant look instead of their present Xplod riceboy image. Some of teh Mobile ES stuff wasn't half bad.

Thanks, that thing was my baby. I will swap out the pics in a few days and let you see what I did with the third seat area, and the rest of her. If you look at pic 3 you can see a removable panel were the third seat used to be. Behind it was a false wall with my x over for the components and the sony procesor.

It's beena bit more than a few days :-P

Glass, always a fan of your work.
Jeremy, I applaud you for making a sound system in a truck, as I'm trying to accomplish the unaccomplishable...well actually I HAVE accomplished it, but it was THOUGHT to be unaccomplishable. Anyway, enough of the word accomplishable. I put a 12" sub in a 2cuft box into a 92 STD cab ranger :) It really isn't all that bad with the seating either.
Specs:
Headunit: Alpine CDA-9830 (on it's way)
Front Speakers: Stock at the moment, I'm looking for some components I like. Thinking of Infinity Perfects. I need to rip apart my door panel and check the size though, because I've heard 6 1/2 and I've heard 5 1/4...both from respectable sites.
Subwoofer: Infinity Kappa 12" DVQ Dual 4ohm coils wired in parallel to 2ohms
Box: Hand built (:)) 1.97 cubic foot box. As soon as I figure out how long to make the ports I want to slot port my box. Maybe Glass would help me?
Subwoofer Amp: Alpine MRP M350 (on it's way also)

i personally love trucks. i had an 89 toyota back in 89 that had 2-12" blue thunders in it and had custom door panels with 2 mids and a tweet in each door and had a pair of fosgate series one 3.5's in the center vent for a center channel...the seating sucked but i think it was huck finn who said you could get used to a hot stove if you set on it long enough....i also had a 93 ranger with xr650 jl's in the door and a pair of jl 12wo's in the bed in a bandpass ported through the cab...did the same thing to an 93 s-10 but used solobaric 12's.......just picked up an 88 chev full size standard cab and i dont know if ill do anything to it yet its a little on the rough side....

Sounds like cool shit man! I thought about doing a blow through with my Infinity in the Ranger bed, but I figured it's temporary anyway, may as well not go chopping it up.

OK OK, so it has been more than a few days. So here you go.

My original box set down lower, so you could see more of the curve were I did the bondo work. With the second box I moved the amps from the top to the front, so I had to raise the over all height about 1.5 so everything would fit.

You can't tell but the black things mounted on the shelf are my crossovers for my components, and the processer you see in the middle is an old school Sony Mobile ES 210 EQ.

Audiophile, thanks for the props on the truck install. Other than my accord, that is the best system I have ever done. As I stated earlier in the post, most people blew it off till they heard it. (trucks can't sound good, oh thats it one 12 and two 120 watt amps, please what will that do) Sure do miss the look on their face when the heard it.

Ok Brandon.................. (weirdo) :bigwink:

Yeah the S10 had nine rolls and a gallon of spray, the Accord is setting at 2 Hushmatt bulk kits 6 peices of the Hushmatt foam, and I still need to do the roof.

Ehh I just prefer to be called by name. Makes the board feel more like a "community" instead of just a bunch of people.

O_O that's alot of Dynamat!! lol. Im going to buy 1 or 2 bulk packs of the extreme and just coat the shit out of it!! While I'm at it I'm going to completely hide all of my wires and install some black carpet instead of the stock ugly gray stuff--it's stained to all hell cuz my truck was previously a work truck for my cousin's company.

Yeah thats the best way to do it in my opinion. Stip the whole thing, and do everything you can at once. Be sure to hit us up with some pics as you go.

Yeah, figured I could knock it all out at once this way :)

I'll try to take pics, but my digicam is often not here and/or not available, so it may be difficult. I'll take some before and after pics of my box when I go to port it though :) I just ordered a porting tube today so it should be here monday
