The ohms of a subwoofer are usually never exact. You can expect a 2 ohm subwoofer to sometimes register as 1.5 ohms.

DC resistance is just that.
Ac resistance is an Impedance, which is an average. You can not accurately determine the AC resitance.

just go to www.bcae1.com and read the section on resistance versus impedance.
while you're there, read the rest of the site a couple times, too.
it's all worth knowing.

so if i wire a dvc 4 ohm sub parrallel to a amp thats only stable at 2 ohms that means that the amp will shut down?

no dvc parrallel 4ohm would be 2ohm.

i know but since justin said you might end up with like 1.5 does that make it shut down?
i dont think so. my XXX registered as 2.3 or something for dual 2ohm. (supposed to be 1.9)
dual 1ohm should register as .7ohm
ive never had a problem and im at 1ohm on my kicker
has your amp been shutting down or something?
