They're a great speaker set, but it totally depends on what you're looking for in a component set. They have a very bright tweeter, bordering harsh if you don't take the time to install them well (-6db setting is a MUST). Mids are very well balanced with good midbass and a warm, defined sound, the crossover is top quality as well. The set as a whole is more of a power set when compared to the neutral sets such as Dynaudio, DLS, Focal Utopias, etc. Imaging is very good and offers great results even in more off axis installs. In a poor install (such as tweeters being way up high without any phase compensation, time correction, or mids being way off axis, etc.), the tweeters tend to stick out like a sore thumb and overall you'll have a "layered" sound, but of course any component system will give poor results if not installed well, so it's a moot point.

thank you i had problems understanding the eq and how to turn down the tweets but after a few mistakes i am pleased with it. i was bumming on them but not now. i also just put bitchathen (spelling?), a cheap sound dampining, on my front doors and it made a huge difference.

The reason they are so harsh out of the box is because MB Quart offers a kit for a second midbass driver, a second pair of drivers would add approximately 6db. The -6db setting was actually designed for when using only the single mid. They made the tweeter stronger so that it would work with either 1 or 2 drivers.
