View Full Version : cry for help :(
Well guys we relaized that the motor in the buick is hosed. well were looking for a motor replacement and im on my last reserves im crying out to you guys for help someone find me a series 2 3800 vortech! 90-99 should fit and super charger or not doesnt matter!
Whats going on with it? Is it locked up, or just bad. If your cylinder walls look ok, you might just do a quick rebuild. I searched, and found little on the for sale side of things. I will keep looking this afternoon to see what I can find. Do you care what condition as far as new or used?

well in competitions you're not supposed to run the engine right?
take it out, replace it with a bunch of batterys.
okay maybe that doesn't help.

There is a list of dealers who sell that crate engine, with or without the charger.

I'm sure it can be done in a couple days... that's nothin.
Problem is... finding one that runs that they don't want an arm and a leg for.
Westwood said they could get one out for me (since you're not allowed in their yard) for only $755.00...:surprised That's insane!
Auggies is just reopening after Spuds death and doesn't have much... they are getting in a whole new inventory... K.R.A.P. doesn't have anything but parts motors and cores. LaPoint said they didn't have any good ones for a 91-99, Everybody is out of these things... closest one I found was on a junkyard search engine about 50-60 miles out and they want $550.
Where in the heck did all these 3800s go... I mean they put em in everything.

Huh?
Ive been to Auggies a few times now, Spuds been gone since before I went in there...
lol, poor spud...
Thats where I got the turbo and the 3100 from. Decent semi normal people. Plus I got hella deals from them.
Westwood is completely insane on prices.
I will stop by Woodville Road Auto parts on my way home tomorrow. Theres B+J on Oakdale, they sell all engines for $300.

I had already checked Car-Part for my area and didn't find much (that was the search I did)... There's more of them available in Bill's area.

LaPoint has one listed but its way expensive with a TON of miles.
Woodville Road Auto Parts has one with 76K on it, but alas they want $550 for it!
:surprised
I would be keeping an eye out at Auggies. They seem to be the coolest yard around, with fair prices. I know when I was there last to get that 3100 they had a few 3800's about.

Personally, I would drive an hour into Michigan and go to Parts Galore. They have the lowest prices, nicest yard, and largest selection of any yard I have ever been to. I believe it's a $1 entrance fee(covers the cost of the cheap ass parts that you can get), but no matter if the taillight is from a BMW or a Geo, it's a flat rate.
gotcha. maybe we will make a trip up there once i get my truck fixed :(
