alright...from what i got out of the post, i guess 5.25 components are the way to go. But will they be loud enough? i guess i could buy components separately and use a 6" midbass (maybe adire) and use a separate tweeter. But where would i be able to pick up a crossover? Or would it be more cost effective to just buy a 5.25 component set?

a good set will sound fine... look into.... Rainbow, MB Quart, Infinity, CDT, Dyn Audio, Diamond Audio... ummmmm... Kickers new comps are supposed to be pretty good im told..... Adire Audio, Resonant Engineering.... just look in the Good Bad list in the FAQ's for other brands.

i got kicks and they will fit 5 1/4 top mounted and 6 1/2' bottom mounted, so you have to go and measure how much depth you got.

you can top mount a set of 6.5" in most Q-forms if you cut a 6" disc out of 5/8ths or 1\2 " mdf block, mount that into the grill recess and top mount the woofer and use the woofer's grill, also allows you to fit the biggest mid drivers depth wise.
