This is my current install. My dad and i threw it together in a couple of hours.
Its a 10" Kicker L7 in a 2.25 cu.ft. box tuned to 38 hz. Powered by an audiobahn (yes i kno.........) amp, 420x1 @<hidden> ohms.

Yea i kno. But hopefully this is just a temporary install until i can get a 15" tempest or brahma (depending on how much $$$ i save this summer). But i may carpet it just to make it look good. I have time and money contstraints bc im in college :banghead

I didnt even think to double check the dimensions. I went to kicker.com and downloaded the manual for it and just used the cut sheet
The dimensions are 29" x 12 3/4" x 16 1/2". The port is 3" x 11 1/4" x 19.5".

That's what I thought at first, but then I looked harder and saw that's the vehicle is smaller making it look bigger than it is. Plus it is only a 10".
But then I did just calculate his overall box dimensions and it is 3.53 cubes before port and driver displacement.

I thought it was 10". It's still bigger then 2.25^ft. More around 3^ft actually.
And I changed your thread title. If you want it to say something different let me know.

Have you had a chance to meter it yet?

No, i havent metered it yet. I live on the eastern end of long island so getting to any sort of contest or anything is a major pain in the @<hidden>$$. I would like to though. I would like to tune the box lower, but dont feel like building another box. I was thinking about doing it a ghetto way and just adding the proper amount of wood to my port. it would look kinda silly, but who cares if it would sound better. good idea/bad idea?

Ok...so i did the calculations. The interior volume of the box is 2.68 cu.ft. and port volume is .38 cu.ft., so that means 2.30 cu.ft. before driver displacement. Just in case anybody is curious.
Also, what do u people think about just adding some wood to the top of the box in order to make the tuning frequency lower? And is there a calculator to tell me how much longer i need to make it? I am currently at 38 and want to go down to maybe 28-30.

WOW!!! I used the second calculator and it told me i need a 45.27" long port for 28hz vent tuning? I guess my thoughts on adding material isnt gonna work.
Thanx Will

Dont' forget to subtract your current length! heh. If I were to make mine tuned to 20 hz I'd have to ADD 44 inches to my port heh

Well i just entered my info and saw how long my port should be and it said it should be 44.15" for 28hz tuning. so i would have to add an additional 25 or so inches. i didnt think it would be that extreme. Now i kno why ryan's box looks the way it does inside. bc there is no possible way to fit a 44" port in a box! well i guess ill just deal w/ it for now and maybe build a new box later. thanx again!
