Did you pull off your wheel and look at your breaks to see the big hole that's now in your rotors? :)

it could be his breaks but it also could be something on the inside of the of the rotor.

In any case, you should pull the wheel off and take a look. I dunno if it can cause that kind of noise, but check wheel bearings as well.

My step-mom had a similar problem where her brakes would squeel only when she accelerated. Turns out they were put on upside down, but her brakes did need to be checked anyways.

most likely the brakes the wheel bearing doesn't really squeal makes a howling noise when the wheel is turned or just howls constantly.

Take the wheel off and inspect everything... make sure to put the entire front end in the air and spin the wheel assemble to see if anythings rubbing or loose that would stop when you apply the brakes... could be a loose brake pad retainer clip too.

on the S10? dude just do the breaks yourself there cake. and 800 bucks for a wheel bearing? thats insane!!! mine is an exp pos cause the hub and abs sensor are built in and i did mine for less than 200 and i bought a torque wrench and a 35MM socket!

me and a buddy put new brakes on.. only cost me about $30 for the brakes, and some of our prescious time.. although, i need new tie rods and bearings eventually.. but no more squeeling noise, so it was that "taddler" thing..

good to hear Jared... Hey Bill yea man they said it might be more than my bearings... I was like wtf? Possibly the whole Rear end is f'd up? I dont think so... I hate mechanics... sorry to those who are... but so far ive been screwed out of a lot of money on my truck due to incompetent mechanics as well as ones who have taken advantage of me.

OEM toyota brakes do that. And just like you described it would stop when I applied the brakes.

my dad has a ram 1500. A few days ago, he drove through some water which was about 8" deep. As soon as he came out of it, a loud squealing noise came from the passanger front tire. Thought it was the bearing untill he pulled off the tire to find a tiny pebble caught between the rotor and a plate behind it.

My car makes this constant squealing sound whenever I use about a quarter throttle or more. It's really bothersome, and I seem to keep needing new tires.
