so i have a black light i bought at rummage sale a few years ago.. works fine, and i was bored so i want to try and hook it up to my truck for the fun of it.. how would i do it? i actually was going to try it earlier, cut it a few inches away from the plug in, decided to wait til tomorrow, twisted the wires back together, and now it doesnt work at all.. not a big deal, but if anyone can tell me how to go about hooking it up to my truck then let me know..

Is it a 12 volt Blacklight or a 110v household plug that you cut off... If it's a 12 volt accessory plug it has a fuse in it, so it will have to be fused once you remove the plug... If a standard wall socket plug (110v) then you shouldn't have cut the plug off at all and should've used a small power inverter.

its a socket one.. is there no way to use it in the car? and why wont it work now that i put the wires back together? it isnt a big deal, because i bought it for $2. can anyone make me an LED strip using black lights or something for cheap, that i can just run from my battery?

Uncertain why it doesn't work when you put it back together :confused
But you can buy 12volt blacklights for the vehicle with a cigarette lighter (12v access) plug on them.

By the time ya buy a power inverter for the standard plug it's not really cheaper.
