These are a set of quarter-waves pipes that I built (with the help of my awesome grandfather) from the design at Argos Loudspeaker (http://members.optusnet.com.au/~gradds55/index.html). These serve as my front speakers on a 5.1 system, powered by a Sony home-theater-in-a-box amplifier. I used cabinet-grade oak ply, and didn't wind up having enough in the single sheet, so the back panel is solid pine. I used a cherry stain with polyurethane and pummel stoned for a semi-glossy finish. Speakers are Vifa, and I don't really know much about the crossover.

They sound really good with standard usage (tv, movies, etc), but they really shine when powering them in 2-channel stereo with music. It took a good break-in period to get them sounding great, but I'm really pleased with the outcome. Thanks again for the comments, guys!
