Just a quick question, can someone clear this up for me.
What exactly is the purpose of having pre-amp outputs on an amp?
Does this mean if your HU only has 2 preamp outputs you can send both of them to your speaker amp (2 Sets of RCA inputs, and 1 set RCA outs) that you can then hook another amp (Sub amp) up to that speaker amp via the Speaker amps Pre outs?
Sorry if that was a little confusing lol....
Well anyway thanks for the input....

Okay well thanks for clearing that all up; are there any disadvantages to doing it that way though?

Not unless your HU has outputs for front, rear, and subwoofer. Because then you wouldn't be able to control them all seperately on the HU.

Well you see the one i'm thiking about using does, but i don't feel like ripping the damn car apart again just to run one more pair of rca's. Could i just take one rca and run it to my sub amp. And then take the other set of rca's and run them to my speaker amp but connect them using y-splits?
Disadvantages?

You can't control the subwoofer separetely, that's all. Whatever the bass on the front speakers is, it will be the same for the subwoofers. same with and filters, treble, face, balance, etc.

Why wouldn't I be able to control he subs separate. They would have their own set of rca's. Wouldn't I just not be able to control the front and the rear speakers separately?

Oh, if they have their own RCA's then yeah. You just can't control whatever you jumped together separetely.

Ok thnx bro.. Is it really a big deal controlling your rear and front speakers, or can i just use the settings on the amp to take care of that?

Just use the amp settings. if you think the rear speakers are too loud and drowning out the fronts, just turn the gain down.

It's so that people know that your question has been answered. It makes stuff look good I think and basically shows that there is an answer to the question, if used and if used properly that is.

The threadstarter is supposed to have the option of clicking the link which is right above the quick reply box next to "Next Thread". Admins and Mod's can click it too. Right now there is a small issue where the platinum members can click it on certain threads, but there's nothing wrong with that.
