I plan on purchasing 2 12" soundstream tarantula dvc 1 ohm subs and i need to know whether it would be better to run them off of Hifonics Brutus BX1800D mono amplifier (1x1800wrms@<hidden> ohm) or an MA Audio HK401SX (1x1800wrms@<hidden> ohm). Keep in mind i plan on wiring the subs in parallel configuration and each sub is 900wrms. I'm not sure if both of those amps would work for me or not because i've never owned 1 ohm subs before and i'm unsure if i need the amp@<hidden> or @<hidden> with the 1 ohm subs wired parallel. Please help me decide which amp i should use and how i should wire them. Id really appreciate it.

Go for MTX or RF. Those are both equally bad.

I can't find a good price on an mtx amp to power my subs. Do you konw of any good amps that will run them for a decent price??

I really recommend against Hifonics because it is nothing more than an Audiobahn; inexpensive flashy paperweights. I've read numerous articles about them failing for no reason within a year. MA Audio is almost like that. I believe they'd be only slightly better.
I don't mean to burst your bubble, but good ones cost money unforunately. How much were you looking at spending?
You can look at the last model JBL amplifiers on eBay. The JBL BP1200.1 would suit you nicely. That should be had for as cheap as you are looking for (somewhere around $200 on ebay?)

i agree that ma and hifonics are crap, but stay away from rf as well...you could check out the elemental designs nine.1,it is 1200 rms at 1ohm,you'd have to call eD and ask,but i'm pretty sure it will run safely at .5ohm also,it is only $350 shipped and has a 3 yr. warranty
