For 2008 I will be concentrating more on custom installs geared towards the SQ and SQL crowd.

Custom installs done right the first time. I want to take on the work the local jokes turn away or dont want to invest time into. That means all the fun custom stuff that comes along with it. From fabbing and incorporating tweets into sails, a pillars to custom mounting speakers in the doors all the way to glassing.

Since I do not sell equipment and have no real desire to do so I will rely on my contacts to gain proper equipment for my customers price levels. I think you guys know who you are. I will be messaging some people to get a list of currently available mid to higher end equipment available.

The basstronics website will be updated and upgraded here in the following weeks to represent this years goals.

Usually, those people are getting turned away because they want custom work and don't want to pay for it. I had a guy ask me for a full custom trunk like in an audio magazine. I asked him what his budget was ... $600. Not gonna happen.

Thats the trouble. I like to work on such installs and take my sweet time. I could never charge by the hour as it would cost way to much. Just better to work per project.

I would of took that job for $600 if he was providing materials :p

And agreed. A lot of people dont want to pay the price. There are some out there that want better than plastic spacer and tweets screwed into the outside of pillars and panels though... :p

That guys Focus I did over the summer was a shinning example.

First member from CAF did a hell of a hack job with the front stage.

Second person, a shop... lol just as bad. They cut the wires so short on the tweets... Almost had to solder direct to the tweet...

I know he was most impressed with what we came up with. Sinking the tweets in the A pillars. Getting paint to closely match for $1 :p

I've had my share of those types of clean up jobs and the jokers that think that they can get amazing things on next to no money, but I'm sure Ryan will do well with the custom work, because as he has stated... Many around here just don't want to do it, or will rape you on hourly rate if they do.

As long as I don't take a loss on the project, I'm usually ok with it. But I also figure into that how much my time is worth to me. IE, How much per hour is being away from my wife or child worth? You know what I mean? As long as I can get that much for the project, I'm down.

I also may have a bit of a different outlook on some of this since I get deployed every now and again. six months away from your family can cause you to look at many things differently.

And I have some strange feeling that the $600 the guy wanted to spend was including materials... Am I right?
I mean sure $600 in labor is a decent days pay, but that get's cut down really quick if it's not just labor.

oh yeah, it was $600 for the whole job including materials ... and probably subs and amp too the way people were down there. Sierra Vista, Arizona is where I was at the time.

The site looks good Ryan and I especially like the home page. I think you're straight-up approach with the comment about no BS is nice touch. You're right, a lot of retail stores are less than trustworthy and more interested in quanity of jobs and $ rather than quality, IMO. I guess that's why I try to do as much as I can with the advice of people on here. At least I know that no corners will be cut during the install, even if it takes 10x as long :)

I hope you have good luck with the site; it is definitely on the way! Definitely keep us updated on how it goes too.

Site looks really nice, very clean and simple to use!! Good Job.

The only thing I would do is mess with your banner image some, it looks like it's compressed too much and it's a little distorted. Other then that, it looks great!
