my nephews having some problems in his truck...everything plays fine, but when he turns is car on or off, one of his subs kind of pops... i looked @<hidden> it while he turned his car on and it does a full excursion and then slowly goes back to normal...any ideas on wats causing this? i checked his ground and all connections behind the head unit and everything looks good.

it may be the RCA's.... in alot of cases with that problem it is the RCA's... try switching them...

k, switched out the rca's & no luck...still doin it

It may be a grounding issue or it is just the fact that the head unit comes on after the amplifier. The HU will send an "on" to it after it has kicked in. Higher end amps usually have a delay that will prevent that from happening.

Are the grounding points sanded down? The ground wire short as possible? No loose wires (including behind the HU, specifically the remote wire)?

Alright...thanks guys, his amp is a lil cheap amp(lightning audio) so that must be it...i'll work on it today and see wat i get done.

It's not good for the subs. If the poping is bad enough, it could cause the sub to over excurt, which definately isn't good. It seems to be worse in a ported box vs. a sealed box also.

I have a Lightning Audio Amp In On Of MY Trucks...Is It A Bad Sounding Pop Like Popcorn Kinda Pop or Does It Sound Like It Shuts Off Kinda Loud(Not A Bad Sounding Pop)...mine doesn't really have a bad pop i dont think, but it isnt bad sounding

mine just sounds like a certain hz of bass hits for a second, like thump its in a small sealed box so i doubt its over excurting

what kinda of lighting audio amp is it...mine is a Lightning Bolt B2.150.2 450 Watts...mine doesn't obviously pop...my neighboor said my amp has a delay on it.....when u turn ur vehicle off like 2 secs later you hear the sub turning off? if so thats normal....
