    Default 84 Camaro Restoration

This has been about a 4 year project.

This is the first car I've ever bought, and I've had it for over 20 years now!
It started life as a 2.8l V6, el cheapo model. Nothing fancy at all.

When the engine died, I decided that I wanted to make this car actually fun. So got myself a 92 Z28 for a donor car, and swapped everything over into it.

So I have 5.7L V8, Posi rear, 92 style GFX, replaced the basic 80's dash with the 92 style, with the 145 MPH speedometer. Then finally, took it in to be painted. I went with the 2011 Camaro Victory Red, and gloss black hood blisters and headlight pockets. Replaced all the weatherstripping since it was apart too.

It's a whole new car now, and really looking forward to driving it this summer.

My goal for the audio is to install a double din Navigation, I've seen it done but I haven't seen anyone really make it look factory. I want it to look like it came from GM that way. but this is going to be down the road, since the paint broke me.

    Here are some pics.

Nice. I wish I had the first car I ever bought. I bought a 68 Firebird when I was 15. My mom got pissed at me and sold it before I turned 16.

Swap looks good! Did you stick with the auto or swap a manual in there? I see you went with the 90-92 airbag wheel also, is it functional? Since you're in Washington, you'll have to watch the Cascade Crew board (I know you're a member there) Event Calendar, we do a dyno every year in the Portland area sometime after the new year, last one was in March when I broke mine due to a disconnected fan switch (loose dipstick ).

Stuck with the auto, I'm going for looks and like the auto console better. Going to light it up with LEDs.

The airbag is not functional, but it wouldn't take much to make it functional. Just have to get the sensors off the other car and plug them in. But, I thought this is a 20 year old bag and sensors. I wasn't sure just how reliable that would be, so I just left it unhooked. Didn't want this thing going off on me down the freeway.

I'm really looking forward to driving it again this spring (it's never going to be driven in the rain again).

I just noticed that you have no badges on the car. You need to get a set of these from here... http://www.emblempros.com/home

Nice car. I like that body style. Did you paint that yourself at your house or did you just do the prep work?

Ya, I have to wait 90 days before adding the badges. Going to get some similar to those, might get them in silver.
