amps. soundstream v.s. memphis

Post by energumeno »

I just bought a car and came with a Soundstream PCA4.400.

Right now i am redoing all the sound system in the car and don't know which amplifier should I use, for my four door speakers, the soundstream or a Memphis 16-MCA3004 that i also have.

Do you have any comments on any of these amps. I looked at the specs but doesn't seem to be that different so i would rather hear comments from you guys who know more about this.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

I'd take Memphis over Soundstream any day.

If it already has the Soundstream... Stick with that for now as they are good amps and between the 2 they are about equal. Use the money that you would spend on the Memphis to get some other stuff first and worry about this later. A lot of people would be thrilled just to have a Soundstream over what they already have or don't have. It's a good amp, so run with it for now :)

He already has the memphis,
Run the memphis and keep the soundstream as a backup or sell it to help with other stuff you need.

Thanks for your answers!

I have decided to start with the memphis installed. I am dooing the installation as of now and will be testing it for a couple of weeks.

I am thinking on buying a capacitor, when i do the cap installation (two weeks) i will also change the amp back to the soundstream to compare it to the memphis.

I will let you know how does it goes.

Thanks!
