1987 Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am/GTA/Formula - KITT
My 1987 Pontiac Firebird is my first car and current daily driver. It was built in August of 1987 at Norwood Ohio, and was made in one of the last few days of the plant before it was shut down. The car was purchased originally in September of 1987, and has stayed Virginia-owned for its entire life. I purchased the car in April of 2021 with 67,000 miles on it, and have put over 30,000 miles on it since. It is a plain-jane spec, with the only notable option being the N90 aluminum "snowflake" wheels. The car is mostly stock, partly because I spend all my money fixing it instead of upgrading it (lol) and also because I am planning on doing a full teardown and LS engine swap a few years after I graduate college. Currently, the only modifications are: 1. Loud exhaust, installed by the PO. Seriously, however loud you're imagining it's double that. A bit old and in need of upgrading. 2. Sunpro tachometer, as the car didn't come with a tach stock. 3. Wonderbar from TDS 4. Upgrade injectors from Southbay. 5. Acdelco rapidfires (if that counts) I plan on keeping this car until it dies (or is killed), because the driving experience offers more than any boring modern car ever could.
