A friend gave me a set of hood inserts that were better than the ones I had. While it had some pitting around the fins, I thought it would be great to hide that further with some black wrinkle paint, but keep the chrome surround and fin tops exposed. I cleaned these up as best I could, polished the edges then taped off the edges and sprayed wrinkle paint in the center portion of the inserts. Once fully dried, I wet sanded the tops of the fins to expose the top edges to give proper exposure to the fins. Turned out better that I imagined.
