    Default Double Decker amp installs

    Hey Guys,

So I'm starting on trying to get the new system installed into the Camaro, this time doing a more stealth install.

I think for the sub amps, I'm going to go with the MMATs M2000 series because of their physical size allow me to hide it where I need it to go.

Now I would also like to run a 4 channel amp for everything else, and would also like to keep this one hidden too. I've been thinking that maybe the MPA470 would be a good amp for what I need.

So I want to hide these amps behind the plastic panels in the back. The M2000 will fit just fine, so now trying to think of how to mount the MPA470, and I think there is enough room to double decker the amps. That would allow a 1/2 inch gap between the amps.

Does anyone have any pictures of amps being mounted 1 on top of the other like this?
Trying to think of how to do it, and still allow air to circulate back in there.

    Thanks!
    Chris

I don't see a reason you couldn't do that. A lot of the new alpine and jl amps are designed to be stacked. Just make sure you get a fan to blow across them to stop any possible overheating issues.

Darn, I wish your post would have taken.

So are you saying get a threaded Rod, and then use the nuts to adjust how far apart the amps are?
Do you have any pictures of anything like this? I'm thinking this is the way to go for what I want to do. Just hoping to see some examples.

Ya basically you take the rod and use washers/jam nuts to hold the amps in place. I just welded my rods to the frame but it works any way. Basically looks like this ----()AMP()----()AMP()----

Just looked it up, size is right but I don't think it's going to have enough power.

The subs I'm thinking of getting are either 2 FI Q12's, or BL12, so I'm going to need around 1k watts per sub.
