I found a few but they were in the range of thousands of dollars... Out of my range.

just checking. I've been looking myself. I want to convert my house to an active setup. Not so much right now, but when I build my planer towers, I'd prefer to do it bi-amped.

Do people run a digital decoder to amplifers or do they still use surround processors with the built in amps? I was thinking it might be possible to do away with the processor but maybe not. I've got a Denon 3803 right now. It's pretty nice. But I want to biamp the front speakers and run an active crossover with them as well. Nile seems to be the only house amp name I can think of. Are they good? I don't remember. Who else makes good house amps?
