those pictures are the result of two years of bodywork and paint. JEEP midnight blue pearl, slightly tweaked, under 6 coats of clear, color/wet sanded, then buffed out by hand.
It took some work to get that car into that good of a shape.

I still need to do a little bit of panel alignment work, but it's pretty straight and well-gapped now.

    Car looks great...

I thought you only had to color sand when there were imperfections (like dirty) in the base coat?

I'm not a painter by no means, so that's a question and not a comment... I'm just curious!

with a dark paint on that large of a car, and spraying over a skimcoat of filler, the paint is never perfect right out of the gun when it's laid down, so a bit of sanding smooths it out. It takes a lot of work to make reflections in the paint on a 17' long car look straight all the way down the body, and still reflect well enough to read a paper in that reflection.

You won't see a factory paint job look that good on a car that's under the six-figure range. For one, they typically won't be that reflective, or be under that much clear,.

one time i had a ford fiesta and we had it buffed out by aboriginal virgin tribeswomen who rubbed their pubic hair against the car untill all imperfections were gone, and did you know they can even polish chrome?!
