71 GS convertible. $500 Kenwood. $500 SAVV 5.6 tft molded into the dash. by the time they slie the top, bust up the dash taking the tv, why not hit the deductible with the deck? why bother taking the face off, they already ruined an 800 top and I can't take the tv out anyway.

I have a secret place I put mine if I don't take it with me. I would tell you, but then it wouldn't be a secret anymore.
lets just say you probably would find it unless you started stripping the car.

in the Festiva, I religiously took the face with me, or the pull out (went through several heads in that car working at the shop and getting new stuff to try out)

the Jeep with the 9813, I never took the face out of the car unless I left the car overnight or somewhere urban, like long term parking at the airport, or going to see a movie etc.. if teh car was in earshot of the alarm, I just left it.

the Charger pretty much lives in my garage, with the alarm on the car and the house so I don't remove anything from the car really.

I usually dont take the faceplate off unless I am at the movie's or an event of some sort. I always put the screen down whenever I get out of the car though. That is just like advertising the damn thing if ya leave it out. The windows are tinted so it is kinda hard to see it anyways.

never a good idea, no reason to do that.

center console is the first place a thief looks, glove box, sun visor.

Most common spots.

If you want to leave it in the car, hide it better or put it in something that locks, thiefs normally dont bother if they cant get the faceplate - that doesnt mean they wont hack your car out of spite.
