With aeroports you will minimize port noise. Dont forget on "end correction" - shorten your port pipe for half height of each aeroport used. Aeroports also gains SPL.
Make sure that your woofers are suited for application you want.
Ported boxes are usually much louder than sealed at tuning frequency and higher, but lacks bottom end. Cca. 1/3 octave under tuning frequency driver and port are 180 deg out of phase, box dont have control over cone movement - you must use subsonic filter to protect driver against mechanical demage. Ported boxes have lower distortion than sealed and they are also bigger than sealed. This type of box will have big Group Delay and it is hard to equalize it at low freq to make it sound really good, but it is not impossible. Line at least 3 sides with 1 inch thick foam - it will sounds better!

If you are more into SQ or listens a lot of different music geners, than sealed would be what you are looking for - it will not be as loud as ported, but it will play lower than ported and it has usually higher F3 freq. Stuff it with wool or with fiberfill - it will sound better

space requirements also play a part, a ported box tends to be larger than a sealed box. Not always but as a general rule. What music do you listen to the most?? Your smaller sealed boxes are better suited for a tight defined bass, such as classical and jazz, but if you listen to rock, and rap, then a ported enclosure may work better. I also think amp power has something to do with it, sealed boxes sometimes require more power to get a certain level of bass than a ported would.

But most definetly spend the extra money on Aeroports, if you go that way,
they won't be that much more expensive.

ok sounds good. aeroports? where do i get them from? thanks. O and I have an amp that puts out 1000 watts at one ohm.

Well the DBXi's are a good all around sub that will work in almost any application... I would suggest a ported enclosure with aeroports for what you're looking for... Feed em 1000w out of a mono amp and they should get plenty loud with a good sound for ya... They won't be ear bleeding, but will do well for what they are capable of.

I have two earthquake dbx 10 d's and I wanted to build an enclosure that would maximize their potential. Kidney bleeding sounds good lol. What you think?
