Bummer I sure hate to hate to hear about that. Those are some monster subs.

Why don't people listen?? You tell them what they need to know and they still don't do it.

I'm pissed for ya Bill, I am annoyed by people like that. I helped on an install for a buddy, I told him how to set his gains, and he came to me and said yadda, yadda, yadda, the sub is not sounding right. I go out at work that day and check his gains and they were cranked all the way up.

I didn't say these were FSQs... I said I know how well built the FSQs are... So I don't have any doubts on the capabilities of the custom built 18"... I was just saying that it's sad with or without break-in that someone couldn't wait for a proper cure time to throw that kinda power and mess up a perfectly good sub.

break in on a sub is bs. the spiders loosen up over time. regardless. there is no break in on the coil or any other parts.


trust me i know about rusty hes one of my best friends in this industry.

these again arnt fsq's these were just custom built for a customer who brough us some parts. if these were fsq's id be charging 800+

No arguement from me... I remember the FSQs and those were tough as hell... although to throw that kinda power to them you may wanna still consider a lil break-in time (just a thought)... Still either way cure time is a must.


Although Fi BTLs still don't come close to the DC level 5, they are more in line with the level 4 & 4XLs... Rusty seriously under rates his subs on the site as what he calls a "safe rms" :D

Evidently my earlier comment made bill upset.

Just for the record, my comments were based off the grey surround, the orangeish colored spider, plain jane dustcap and white residue. As I stated earlier, I personally dont like the cosmetics of it. Which obviously holds NO effect on performance, which is what Bill is all about.

Its in no way an attack on Bill or his subs performance.

These are not FSQ's these were just hand built custom subwoofers. the FSQ is Close to a BTL or a LVL 5. This is a JCW.
