Bush's proposed economic plans, since 2001, included numerous attempts to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which was shot down by congress multiple times because they were too busy getting their pockets stuffed by said companies and protected them. It isn't Bush's fault that our economy went in shambles due to this crisis, he and his administration had the foresight to point this out and made multiple attempts to prevent it from occuring. As did John McCain, Elizabeth Dole, etc in 2005 and the bill didn't make the floor (hmmm....). Who's to blame? Your senators and representatives. Most people couldn't even name their senator or representative if asked.
McCain had to change his campaign. He had to turn "anti-Bush" not because he is but because the masses are anti-bush and he wouldn't last 2 seconds saying "I'll be the next George W. Bush". Both parties are essentially banking on and trying to take advantage of americans being too ignorant to understand why we're in the shape we're in. And Obama will likely win based on the mass hysteria he's created with the word "change".
The
intended Bush economy would have worked just fine had it not been for idiots in congress such as Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank. And yes, before that point we had a republican majority didn't approve the most important proposals in terms of our economic well being and they're at fault. But Bush or any other president can do little without congress
But let's ignore congress, put the blame on the president and follow the opposing party's new candidate like a sheep even considering his history. I'm not talking past terrorists and socialist groups either, I'm talking his relationships with CEOs of the very companies that kickstarted our economic downturn (not counting the other questionable socialist groups, etc), involvement with the CRA, etc. Let's just spread the wealth around and vote socialism so we can all be equally miserable.
