If you are struggling to just pay for the cost of a turbo/super, you will not be having fun after you finish it because something WILL break and you wont be able to fix it. If I did turbo/super on my truck, I would be making sure I have enough to do a built tranny and a good rear end(because of doing so many hole shots :D ).
I don't know how old you are or what not but my best advice is to just drive the car as it is. Do some small mods to keep yourself busy and just save your money. Save until you can buy something as a toy or something nice to enjoy. Especially with the way the economy is, I would try and save.
I really need to take my advice though.... i'm looking at an 86 fox body stang with a 351 and nice trans.... but its going to take a good chunk of my money to buy.... but i'm an addict to cars :help:
i dont plan on building it until I know the entire cost, if it out weights getting a loan for a new faster car i wont do it. Ill get some pics here soon, nothin fabulous it has a few scratches but its nice.

For 3K you could find a cheap fox body coupe, which in stock form would probably keep up with the boosted cavy... Then spend about 500 bucks on a set of gt 40 heads/intake, small cam, and full exhaust and have a daily driveable 12 second car...

lol, j/k. If you like the cavy, build it.

Is it a 2dr or 4dr? And wheres the pictures man???

I just mentioned the LS1 car because he seems to be a chevy fan... I'm personally a HUGE fan of the windsor fan.

To run enough boost to make it fun (10+ psi) you probably want to do some internal engine work. Of course you'd have to do the supporting mods (upgrade fuel system, tune (engine management), exhaust, ect.
And we havent even discussed the rest of the drive train.
Ehh, it can be done, but the real question is, are you willing to do it (and do it right?)
Well the kits come with almost everything u need, injectors ect... they say the engine will handle 8psi stock safely, im just looking into it for future reference, ill probably be booster it when it needs an engine and tranny rebuild if the body is still good, probably 70,000 miles from now. Ill check out that site, either that or ill just get an cobalt with the turbo in it, except i hate the interior, so uncomfortable
