Bottom line is they are rated what they are rated.

Anytime the consumer decides they want to deviate away from that they are taking the warranty into their own hands.

Dealers can say what they want. It will make them look bad if they claim it will handle X amount of power then it fails. Then Company says we wont warranty it due to overpowering. Then you have a huge ass fight.

IMO its just easier to let the spec sheets do the talking. Especially from a dealer stand point. I wouldnt want to jeopardize myself :)

I know you stated that same thing 3 times, that really has nothing to do with what im saying though. There can be problems with anything.

That's like saying well i know the RMS maybe wrong but this sub is blue and that sub is red and that can lead to problems.

As far as this thread is concerned im done with it, Ill let you and DC audio worry about it now.

I understand you are trying to help and I do appreciate it, I am merely trying to add in that even with all of the proper mated rated equipment that there can be problems if it's not installed properly and backed up with the proper wiring and electrical system.

No it was not do to your post or implying that you don't (or anyone) doesn't know what they're doing (it's just that many don't).
And Bill, when I was referring to "directions", I was talking about the fact that "Good" amps give you instructions as to proper install and a "Good" authorized dealer will give you proper direction on installing your own set up to run optimum performance without risk. Nearly all equipment is Not warrantied if improperly installed even if you are running only half the recommended rms... Basically I'm not saying that it is safe to run sub(s) or amps at any numbers that have not been properly installed.

Mike, if you were pointing out the fact that you make sure to suggest proper subs to customers because of my post, I wasn't insinuating that you or anyone here would do any different. I just posted this part "I like it when people tell me the truth rather then tell me what they think I want to hear." because I'm personally running in to it at the places I've been checking out.
