I wish it was hotter here in PA, but then again id like to move to colorado or montana, ahhh beautiful mountains, plains and forests.

Not to change the subject but would getting an online degree be ok? I wanna go into computer repair, not networking as much as fixing PCs with problems lol. I dont think we have any schools around here except community colleges. and a Vo Tech

its not terrible now, and usually isnt in the morning here. but the afternoon humidity is insane. especially at 2000-3000 ft with no AC. my ass and back sweat like a mofo. as much as i like flying, i hate those damn little planes. i go up twice a day, usually 2-3 hours each time. like this for the last 2 weeks, still got another 2-3 left. its fun, but torture.

currently, 78 degree at 86% humidity. not too bad right now. and yes, we have BAD mosquitoes. lost of West Nile past couple of years. lots of lakes and ponds around here. and standing water

Geez, its partly cloudy and 69 right now. Will probably go into the high 70s once the sun comes up.

I think it's a tad hotter where you are, but I know exactly what you are talking about. We've had heat indexes of 120-125 here before, that is just unbelievable with the fricken humidity.

I just hope you don't have mosquitos like we do. I need to change my blood type...

I looked at my thermometer just a few minutes ago. It reads 80 degrees. It is 2:12 AM!

I am in Stillwater, OK. It topped off at 102 today. so all you people where it is cool can suck it. I have friggin had it! I's only May! this does not boad well for this summer and the A\C at the shop at work went out 2 years ago and Corporate won't pay to replace it because they are in Tempe, AZ and they think that just because it gets 115 out there and only hits low 100's out here for a few weeks we can just deal with it. well that's crap because they don't take into account the fact that out here when its 85 at 90% humidity there literally is a fog in the mornings of water vapor so thick it fogs your glasses. the heat index out here gets into the 1-teens. William knows wht I am talking about, down there in the Bayou.

"damn, must have been tough to keep hydrated...and cool."

You lose a lot of salt from sweating, you'd sweat a couple seconds after walking in there. I could go to lunch and pour so much salt on my food to turn it near white and grainy, and still couldn't taste the salt at all. Gatorade is your best friend. Breathing is a big difficulty too, you simply can't get used to something like that, everytime we had a problem with equipment we had to take turns working on it, and had a utility guy or operator come watch us to make sure we didn't pass out. We'd work for 5 minutes and come tag in somebody else. Luckily we had a control room with A/C, so we had a place to resort to.

Kind of the typical seasons. we had a gigantic drought this winter though, I think the biggest in our history, so now spring is making up for it. and it sucks.
Just keep in mind that in high humidity, sweat doesn't evaporate :-/ And you sweat more with little activity... yum

Jonathan wrote:Us southern people will get our torture once July and August come around. If you haven't felt 100+ degrees with extremely high humidity, be grateful. I used to work in a Paper mill that averaged 140 degrees inside and 90+% humidity. It got 160 in hot spots. Definately not a comfortable situation.
