well. the deal with the damn 701 fell through, so I am saving yet again for a BitOne.1 We will see what happens when I actually purchase a proc.

For some reason I thought you had a bit one? I've used both, the biggest reason I made the switch was the ease of tuning thru a computer. The menus on that rux-c701 drive me insane, the noise was kind of annoying too.

about those fuses

The top fuse is a 15amp fuse and it is for the Constant

Bottom fuse is a 10amp and it is for the Turn on

They are both for the headunit.

To go to this extreme is not required, but it is great for bonus points.


BTW, I am purchasing a PXAH701 and RUXC-701 for the mustang tomorrow. I will post pics when it is completed.

what values are those fuses?

battery is fused at the battery. On the battery, I will take a picture and upload that one too. I have a brass bus bar set up on the battery that lends to the fusing of the system.

I may be off on the dual HU fuses, but it was my understanding that at least one of them is for the headunit. Every component in a Competition SQ car that receives current from the charging source must be fused. Therefore we fused the headunit.

The other may be for accessory. I am not sure though. I will ask Chris and get back to you.

That seems like its redundant and useless and possibly dangerous. If the first fuse blows most likely from a short you will continue to allow current through the second fuse until it blows. Or you just doubled the current capacity of that fuse block which maybe higher than you wire creating a fire hazard? You guys are smart guys so obviously im missing something here lol.

Falken just pointed out that you are fusing accessory and battery + that makes more sense lol.

In competition, for safety concerns, the head unit must be fused separately from the car. This way we set it up that if the first fuse blows, there is a backup as well.
