i was just thinking about putting the tweeters from the second set up front too since they are silk dome(helix set is too), so i wouldnt think they would sound too bad together? ill keep the mids from the alpines in the rear doors. ive got the Helix set now, but its been too cold to install them. still waiting on the alpines to come in.
still waiting on an amp so for now ill just have to use my head unit. if i finally get one of the 4 channel amps i think ill just use y splitters and wire both sets of comps to it. i dont think it will matter that much in the end..
thanks everyone for the help so far. :fing02:

First off, why do you want two component sets in the front? I'm sure you've heard me talk about why I don't like the idea more than a few times.

Second, yes Y splitters would work, but you are over complicating things.

well ive got another question(ive not kept up with audio in over 6 years lol)

i plan on having my Helix set in the front doors, and placing the tweeters in the dash or somewhere around there.. then putting the other set(alpine type s set now) in the rear doors but running the tweeters from them also to the front. if i wired those two sets to the 4 channel amp(helix to ch1&2, alpine to ch3&4) would my music still sound proper? im assuming i would just lose the ability to fade correct? would i be better off leaving the other set off the amp and just power them off the head unit?

ah OK,
So the 4 comps, 2 for the front 2 for the rear?
I would would use a Y for the rears, run one set to the sub amp and the other too 1 input on the 4Channel.
That should keep all your fading correct.

If all the comps are going to be in the front somewhere, then just Y the front preouts.

You're using the crossover built into the amps right? Then you shouldn't have any problems there either.

It only has a sub/rear(already using for sub) and a front rca output. Ive got a couple 4 channel amps i may be able to use and im wanting to power both sets of comps with one of these amps.

How can i keep fade and left/right seperation or whatever with this setup?
I hope I have this right,
but you want to use 1 4 channel amp to run the 4 speakers, and keep front/rear and left right fade?

so it sounds like the deck has 3 sets of RCAs right?
front, rear, and sub?

Couldn't you take the front and rear and hook up to the 4 channel amp? It should have 4 inputs right?
Then run the sub preouts to your sub amp?

That should get you what you want, unless I'm not understanding the question.
