It's all good. I see that you are going mainly for SQ, go with the sealed box first. If you have extra time, try one ported, and sealed. You don't wanna be driving around with a finished install thinking to yourself "I like it, but I wonder what it would've sounded like ported." Just a thought.

Actully they were in cheapy prefab boxes, and still sounded good. The sealed box weren't tuned btw :)

what size box did u run and what was the tuning/

For one I would opt for a ported, but thats just me. I had two 12" type R's about a year ago sealed, they sound great, and loud. That was two tho, not one. Those type R's sound great, and should sound great ported.

Well, when i plugged all that into WinISD, i got a QTC of .70 at 1.25 cu.ft.

Hope that helps slightly

i listen to all types of music, basically whatever sounds good and is recorded clean.
You basically answered your own question. haha. If you want it to sound good, i would put it in a sealed box. You will get the best SQ out of it, but it wont get crazy loud. You should hear more of the frequency range tho in a sealed box.
