Some amps only accept 8 guage though. I just ordered a Kicker 350 watt amp and it only accepts 8 guage. So make sure your amp can accept up to 4 guage.

Bigger wire will never hurt. Using smaller wire is what can be bad. So if it says 8 gauge, feel free to use 4 gauge, it will leave room later for upgrading. You would never want to use 10 gauge if it said 8.

My amp says to use 8 GA wire for the battery and ground. Would i hurt if i just went ahead and used 4GA wire? The amp is a Lanzar Vibe 228 if that helps any. THANKS Also, the fuse is a 40 amp fuse. THANKS
