yea something with your measurements is wrong. or your inputs were wrong i just tested isd against psp-inc.com calculator and they were exactly the same. as for the calculator i use psp-inc because the ports i use are from them and if anyone knows there ports its them! lol here is what you need to do build a box and test it if you dont like it build another! boxes arnt that expensive or hard to make hell i have about 10 15 boxes sitting in my garage.

Did JL say it was a slot port or a square port? A slot port is slightly different from a square (or rectangular port).

The results shouldn't vary as much as they did. I would go back and check to make sure you didn't mix up anything.

well with the 1.75" x 14", I was going from a JL sub manual. So your saying JL have bad plans????

Also, there is no mention of why the results I got were different!? Which calculator should I use???

Yea, pretty much every program has a slot port option. In WinISD you can just click on the round port and it will change to slot (looks like a square).

For aero ports, definitely go with precision ports. [url]http://www.psp-inc.com[/url] is their website, which has a port calculator on it to go by. The calculation is per port. So you're using 3 4" ports and it comes out with a length of 12", each port would need to be 12" long. As for purchasing the Precison ports, you can pick them up at [url]http://www.partsexpress.com[/url]

Ok guys I have completely different port length results from these five sources!

The input details are really irrelevant (I point out that they remained the same for all five). The main issue is that output results vary greatly!

Box volume (gross) 2.684cuft, 32hz tuned. (slot port width 1.75", height 14")

WinISD 0.44 = 17.79"
[url]http://www.the12volt.com[/url] (input 5.585" as diameter, as this is what was used for the bcae calculator to get the correct 'port area') = 19.93"
[url]http://www.linearteam.dk[/url] (input 5.585" as diameter) = 19.899"

The last two are round port calculators but used with diameter from bcae.com.

How am I to build a box if I cannot rely on the figures being accurate!!!!?

Maybe this calls for the big boys, Glass/Jonathan!? Please please take a moment of your time to help explain this, and provide a suitable path to take. This is seriously holding up the build of my box :(

Which brand of aero ports would you most recommend???

Also in WinISD when you have 2 ports instead of 1, the port length increases over double. Is this length for both ports individually, or length in total for both?

I get around 0.10 vent mach with 1 port and 0.02 with 2 ports,,, would 0.10 vent mach cause ANY port noise???

P.S. snyper2k2 - did you get a manual with your RE SE sub? If so maybe you could upload it somewhere?

Dude, you don't need a blueprint for a box. Can you do simple math? If so, you can design a box. My suggestions is anywhere from 2-2.5 cubic feet tuned low.

Remember Converting inches to cubic feet is LxWxH/1728. You can use WinIsd or any other port calculator for calculating port length. I'd highly reccomend aero ports, but if you can't swing the cost..go with a regular slot port.

I have the same sub. Powered by a JBL 600.1 The box is a 1.8cf tuned to 34hz, and it sounds amazing!

Not for the size i want :( Very limited on their site 1.5cuft or 2.5cuft, etc.

Maybe the manual has better plans???? Anyone??
