4 gauge is the preffered for the big 3 upgrade ;)

A cap on a standard alt usually can really hurt ur factory alt and sometimes even cause charging problems in your vehicle... Cargodz is 100% right go with the H0 Alternator.

The Big 3 will also ensure that you are running a constant size wire throughout the car so there is nowhere the power can be bottled up at any point... Kinda like thinking it of a river, if there are choke points thats generally where there are problems... Same deal in Electricity.

ive heard that before but what exactly does that do?

by cargodz » Mon Mar 19, 2007 11:57 pm

Welcome to CAC there tonk... We've got lots of great people here, competitors, and even a few dealers (like myself)... so you got questions feel free to ask away under any of the topics ;)
I might make one quick suggestion about your system... ditch the cap and go with a high output alt and better battery under the hood and upgrade the big 3 wires (if you haven't already) which are motor to chassis ground, battery neg. to ground, and alternator to battery positive.
