Comcast has really expanded On Demand now too. You can do cool stuff like karoake, local car classifieds, music videos, and check out shows on a number of channels. I rarely even use it for movies, mostly music videos and Tv shows, the movies are cool though, too.

I still despise them....I get a letter every week telling me how I need to sign up for Comcast Digital Voice, every week. They love their flyers and brightly colored letters lol

I agree that was a downside to it... that and you couldn't even tape anything from the dvr... that kinda sucked too.

Dish on demand is really lame!
What they do is download maybe 4 movies overnight to your DVR hard drive, so they are 'available' if you want to pay to see them.

But they cost a 1 more then PPV and you only get to keep them for 24 hours.

I can't see why anyone would use it, especially since you cant' even keep the movies on your hard drive after you pay for them

Dish network had "On demand" movies already.

I guess i'm lucky. I have sky digital and they haven't raised my rate, or talked about it, in the three years I have used them.

To bad you can't get sky in the states. I would be all over it once i move back.

Pretty much all the TV services are raising rates.

I had comcast and they were raising my rates every year, so went to Dish. Now they are doing the same, and direct TV usually follows Dish.

That's why I finally just ended up with the basic package and now have netflix for movies.

The one nice thing about Dish is, if you don't care about HD. You can get an SD DVR (model 508), that has no monthly DVR fee. That's what I have and love it. You'll need to get it off Ebay, since they no longer make it, but it's grandfathered in with no fee.

Give them $10 bucks a month and then it's not stealing... you'd be suprised... if they're decent neighbors, they probably won't have a problem with it and gladly take your money to go towards the bill... Now not only are you being neighborly, but also staying within the law :thumbsup
