Glad they're replacing the deflector for you.

Speaking on the subject of customer service, I wanted to mention a couple companies I've worked with that really stood up to the place for their customers.

The first is Supertrapp.
http://www.supertrapp.com/

Way back in the early 90's I bought my XR250, and it had a Supertrapp already installed on it. Well the bike has always ran fine, but if you really gave it some gas from idle it would bog out.

Now fast forward to about a month ago, I'm getting my bike fixed up again, doing some maintenance etc. I started thinking about the bogging and wondered if it had anything to do with that exhaust. So I looked up Supertrapp, and told them that I bought this bike a long time ago, and told them that it had one of their exhausts already on it. Described my problem, and if they thought I needed to put larger jets on it(I just thought the carb needed an upgrade too)

They responded that I shouldn't have to change the jets, but it sounds like I didn't have enough discs in the exhaust. They recommended between 6-8, and I only had 5. So I was going to buy some, but my discs measured 3.5 inches across, and they listed 4 inch discs. So wanted to make sure, I got the right ones, and asked if those were them.

Their response.....
What's your address, we'll send you a couple!!! 3 days later, had 3 new discs and some stickers too! Now that is customer service!!

So I'll be sure tell everyone I know, that Supertrapp looks out for their customers!!!

The next example is Triple Edge Wiper blades.
I bought these when I first got the Camaro, back then $20 per blade was nuts, but I bought them anyways since they had a lifetime warranty.

Well when I started fixing up the Camaro, the blades themselves worked just like new. But over almost 20 years, the metal brackets were rusting and didn't look so hot.

I didn't have my receipt anymore, so really thought I'll just have to buy some more.
But I sent them an email about it, told them that I bought these early 90's love the wipers but they were rusting. Sent them some pics of what I meant, told them that I didn't have the receipt anymore, but just wondering if there was any chance these would be covered.

A week later, had new wiper blades!

So from now on, I'll only buy their wiper blades because they really take care of their customers and honor those warranties!!

so if anyone is looking to buy either dirt bike exhausts or wiper blades, really think about those 2 companies.

Well I got an update!!

One of the managers contacted me, and said what Jennifer said is correct, but because I'm not satisfied that they will send me a new deflector.

I'm glad they came around and did the right thing, that will help me in deciding if I want to purchase anything else from them in the future. We just recently bought my sister a full set of the molded weathertech floor mats for her new Tahoe for Christmas, and those aren't cheap. It was making me angry thinking how much those cost, and how Weathertech had responded to my inquiry of my deflector. I'm feeling better now!

It sucks that they wont warrenty it, I'd be a little p*ssed too.

I never bought a set, but I love when I buy a vehicle and there already on it...

Ya the problem is, this 1 deflector is fading for no reason at all. The truck is stored in the garage, and I live in Washington so it's not like we get sun up here anyways.

If I abused them, or left the truck outside all the time. Then they would all look the same, and I could see them not wanting to replace a whole set. But I have 1 deflector that turned greenish/clear for really no reason.

It is a customer service thing, I've always heard how great Weathertech was, and that's why they cost SOOOO much more compared to everyone else. That's why I purchased their product, thinking if anything odd like this happened, they would go out of their way to make things right.

but it looks like it isn't the case, and they care more about the bottom line then keeping a long time customer happy. For now on, I won't bother purchasing anything from them because their warranty is lousy (wish I would have noticed the 1 year before I bought them) and you can get the no name brands for much less. I had the no name deflectors on my old 4Runner never faded at all and had them on there for 4 years, and that truck did sit outside all the time.

So what's the point of paying so much more for Weathertech? None really?

My post is mostly too, to let anyone else out there doing a search to see what brand to get, to see this and know that there is only a 1 year warranty, and to also see what could happen to theirs too.

I am confused. Maybe I am not reading this right.

It is not just about the "out of warranty' coverage. To me it is just good customer service. If he had tried cleaning them with acetone or something yeah he wouldnt have a case, but just normal wear, and "normal" in this case being stored in a garage most of the time, something is just not right. I think they should at least send him the one to replace the defective one, at the very least. Not just totally blow him off that is just plain rude.

Well thats the bottom line, to them.

One would think the warranty on such things would pretty much cover breakage. But loss of tint? On only one of four pieces. Thats just down right strange.

And Jon I think this goes back to a "Baby Banz" issue Chris had. Lol, now that was a riot!

Working in CS myself, I can tell you that since she did not care enough to take care of an out of warranty issue like this, I doubt they care if you know the Pope, let alone a number of message boards. If the company cared about you and not your influence, they would be much better off. I know that here we try to help everyone. Sometimes it is in our best interest to help people that really don't qualify for help under our warranty. we do it out of respect for the customer. If more companies would do the small things, they would have a much more loyal base than otherwise. The bottom line is not always the best indicator of a successful business.

I thought so too. I actually thought I saw it in a ad, maybe I didnt though.

I have never had a set fade like that. I dont buy weathertech either though. I always got the cheapies from like walmart or something. LOL
