Theres some good info throughout this thread.

THe long and the short of it is: Yes you can use home speakers, but it may not be as loud or last as long. There are cheap alternatives out there.

Terry aka Smoker has some coax's for like $50-60 that sound quite amazing for the $$$...

so do you already have the home speakers that you planned on using? or where you just thinking about buying some raw drivers and making xovers to make them work? you can get fairly nice comp sets from DIY (do it yourself) and if you planned on doing it raul and kiki would probaly be the 2 best on here to help you with something like that. car audio is an addiction but for all of us on here its well worth it. hope you stick around there is alot to learn and alot of things that can save you a ton of money.

i was just curious because of her user name......im not like ryan i can only handle one girl at a time........seriously welcome aboard i hope you can find it comfortable and helpful here.......i also use a few biker boards and there are women on there too....i was actually surprised to not find any female users here when i joined......and you are right about the age thing.....you are only like 3 1/2 years older than my oldest girl.........hope you stick around, its fun here and pretty light compared to a lot of other boards, very little drama and a lot of knowledgable people.......
