I'm pretty sure the sub displaces around .15 cuft. I think I may have a little too much fill in there actually. I've got like 1.5 bags of polyfill from PE in there.

Edit: And obviously, any comments from Glass/Jonathan/Geo/everyone else are welcome on this :)

I think inverting it will help some, I'm not sure of the displacemnt of xxx's but it may be enough to make a small difference....

I have no experince with the xxx's, but kiki does and he'll probably be able to recommend you a good box size.... :happy055:

I thought from the pix he has some poly fill in there? If he is planning on taking it out he is only going to hurt it... Personally i think a new box is needed... thats xxx needs a lot more air to breath in there...

^not a bad idea... but if it were me I'd probably build a 1.5-1.75 and then do the polyfill.

You can buy a bag of it from any fabric store ie. joanne fabrics, ac moore etc... for just a couple bucks. It'll slow the waves down inside the box, essentially tricking the sub into thinking its in a bigger box. worked for my center counsole box i made for my ranger...

i never understand y the factory underestimates box designs like that.

Rob: Yea I know, I didn't notice until I had screwed them in. I got longer screws this time than last, and I didn't realize that I wasn't making the predrilled holes DEEP enough. So once it got to the bottom of the hole, it just split.
To try to rectify it since everything was already together, I put a bunch of wood glue in them and clamped them.
Bill: When I modelled it in WinISD, it said I needed like 1 cuft for .707 alignment, which is why I went for that. In addition, if you look at the reaudio.com site (which STILL isn't updated, lol), it says to put an XXX12 in 0.8 cuft sealed.

Depending on my outcome today from inverting it, I'll build another box. I'll probably build another away because I still have over half a sheet of the MDF left. Thanks for your comments guys, I really appreciate you taking your time to check out my situation! :horse

not that this has anything to do with your current dilemma... but it kinda looks like you split the ends on your internal braces...
