your still basically saying the same thing. what your saying is its easier when in actuality its not its just as difficult as a sixth order now when you start getting into 8th and 10th that does make a diffrence f those stick with 4th and sixth.

Thats the reason I've always stuck with ported. This was a design from one on the new box builders over one ROE :) I never put to much faith in the design, thats why I asked over here. He's doing folded and tapped horn designs for everyone, and most are noobs so there believeing whatever they say. I already run them in a CRX style enclosure ported with great results. I was bored, wanted to build something, so gave him a shot. I think its funny now, this is who everyone is referring to to design boxes.. .oh well.. at least it looks cool in sketchup :)

4th order is no more forgiving then sixth order which is a common misconception especially if the subs are designed for a ported enclosure. like we spoke bandpass's work on proportions and if the proportions are incorrect one way or another your subs will literally shred.

While it is a very nice looking design... I have to agree that it would be a shame to tear those nice Eclipse subs to shreds. A 4th order may still be better suited for you.

I would advise sitting down and plunking the numbers into winISD yourself and having a look at it.

If its a good design you will know quickly. However the 6th order bandpasses dont come easy. The subs have to be rather apt to a ported box usually.

stick to 4th order if your gonna do bandpass. much easier and less costly than trying to warranty subs that are torn apart at the surround
