Re: had to put together a new computer
It gets the job done. I mostly use it for work. We model new products in Solidworks and MasterCAM, and I have to manipulate graphics for laser engraving for customers in PS, Illustrator, and CorelDRAW.

Re: Anybody still have their old school car audio equipment?
I still have tons of it. Mostly Alpine and Orion from the early 1990s. Some Pioneer Premier, Cerwin-Vega (just re-foamed the LE-12D subs), some DynAudio, and a few other odds and ends.
I have a collection of vintage 1980s home audio too (Pioneer Elite, Onkyo/Integra, KEF Reference, Nakamichi)

you can use both the head unit's XO and the amplifier's XO together, but you need to know what you're doing. You don't want both of th XOs doing the same thing at the same time, because the Q of both XOs will be added together, so if you have say, the HU and the amp both set for LPF for the sub, and...

Facebook Old school audio group
This is a FB group to which I belong. There are a lot of old school IASCA champions and competitors, and audio designers there as well as entheusiasts and collectors, if you wish to check it out. Really nice group of people. Feel free to tell them I sent you there (GlassWolf, Sean) http://www.facebo...

If it was my system, I'd buy a 4 channel amp to drive those Polk door speakers front and rear. about 70% of your audio comes from those speakers. With just a sub amp, you'll drown them out since head units only supply about 10 or 12 watts per channel RMS (that 52 watt rating is nonsense. that's peak...

There is a FAQ in the FAQ section that I wrote a few years ago that helps determine alternator needs. Basically, you need to figure out the peak current draw of your amplifiers, or at least their typical draw at your listening levels, then add that to what your car needs to function (most modern sto...
