engine trouble

Well if you're pulling metal out of the head, you may want to drop the oil pan too.

humm, prolly a good idea, and all this in the parking lot, yesterday morning i got a call from security saying i couldnt do any major repairs on campus (my car was up on jackstands with one tire off)

but the night before a security guard came up to me and talked to me for 10+ minutes not even mentioning that i can't be working on my car.

Owell, there is better news, my dad turned in his resume to the school to apply for a locksmith job, and 4 hours later he got a call back saying the school wanted to do an over the phone interview tomorrow with the head of maintenance and 2 other big shots. If he gets the job 90% of my tuition is gone, plus he gets healthcare. Not a bad offer since his current auto industry job is only gonna be there about 3 more months, there are basically no jobs left in michigan and he and my mom have not been doing so well and a bit of separation may do them good.

It might be in everyones best interest if they just move away from Mich then. Maybe she could get a job down there, even as a waitress.

There isnt a good job around here. Unless you have a degree, can do about 5 peoples jobs for less than ones proper pay.

yeah, well we can't sell the house because the market is terrible, so best case scenario is my parents just move away for a lil while while my dad works down here (if he gets the job) and my mom stay back home because she can retire from k-mart in a little over a year. worst case- divorce and my parents permanently split up. To be honest i'd be ok with either, they've been miserable together, but i will miss home quite a bit

its kinda weird after my life is pretty much the same for 18 years, then when i move away to college everything gets f'd up. prolly would be a different situation if the economy was in better shape, and my parents jobs weren't on the line

well, after giving the head and pistons a pretty good look over i cant figure out where these metal chunks came from, i tried to take pics but couldnt take any worth posting, tomorrow my dad is coming down here for his 2nd interview and he's gonna take a good look over it. with the car having 183k and the motor around 80k i dont think its worth fixing so i was looking on craigslist and found this: http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/cto/1149387880.html

the blue book is right around 1k for that car. it seems a little low, but do you guys think its worth what there asking....or better yet anyone wanna sell a dependable car for the low?

If you could get that for 1k it'd be a good deal (providing it runs well.)

The body and interior look to be in nice shape.

yeah, i want to try to knock em down to 1500 or so from 1900 because its been up for a few weeks and hasnt sold

If I still had the Buick Century it would of been a good match @ $700. Hell your dad could of drove it down to ya...

Those jeeps are usually tanks. Rust badly around the door handles though.

Given the cars seen two motors I doubt its worth fixing. Is it a dual overhead cam? Timing chain chunks maybe?
