Winter Check list.

Post by MobileAudio219 »

I always do this when winter time starts creeping in.... and I just ran out to my truck to grab something and it was freaking cold, so when I got back in I check the temp and it's 40 degrees out there... So winters coming!!!

So here's some things to check:

HOME:

*Change the batteries and test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

*Change your furnace filter. This will help insure your furnace is running at maximum efficiency, which will help reduce your energy bill. Most of your standard Disposable fiberglass filters have a life span of about 1-2 months (depending on how much you use your furnace/ac system.)

*Check the seals around you doors and windows. If you have older windows you might want to consider getting some plastic for them.

Vehicle:

*Check your tires. Bald tires and snow are not the greatest combo. You also don't want to be stuck on the side of the road when it's -5 outside. Also check your tire pressure, and do so when the tire is cold (before being driven.) Every 10 degree drop in temp. can lower you tire pressure 1lb. It's recommend you check your tire pressure bi-montly.

*Replace your car battery if it's weak or real old.

*Check for proper coolant mixture. Having the improper mixture can lead to big time problems like busted engine blocks and/or cracked radiators.

*Carry a blanket, small shovel, a red towel or cloth (to hang from your window), and kitty liter in your trunk.

40 Fahrenheit = 4 Celsius

That's what it is here right now.

It was snowing last night.

It got pretty warm today, it's around 62 °F right now. The highs are going to be in the upper 60's until thursday, then were going back into the lower 60's for a while after that...

They said this December is going to be the coldest we've had in the last 10 years, and we're on track to set some "low" records... They are predicting a white Christmas (first time in a few years), but otherwise the snow fall totals are suppose to be low... lots of ice though! :happy055:

I love winter!!!!! :words

My winter kit consists of an old winter coat, snow pants or oversized sweatpants, hat, gloves, and boots. Since I started carring this stuff I have never needed it but the first time I forget it I will need it. I also carry jumper cables all the time.

Winter has arrived. I took this about an hour ago when the snow first started. It's just crazy out there now and everything is covered.

That is exactly the reason I want to live in Canada... Or Alaska!
