the point is I can build my own, or pay someone locally who's not in a union to build a PC for cheaper.
The problem with our economy is that every putz fresh out of highschool thinks he deserves fifty-thousand dollars per year with benefits.
Hey guess what? That high wage you make trickles down to higher prices nobody else can afford to pay.

The cases are made in China from US resources. The CPUs are made in countries like Germany, Singapore, Taiwan, Italy, and other parts of Europe. Not in the US.
The boards are made in hong kong, taiwan, or china.
the ram is made in korea
drives? singapore, malaysia, philippines, or japan.
I can go on if you lie, but nothing is made in the US.
If you want an American designed and made PC case, buy from http://www.calpc.com
I'm a dealer for them in fact.. but I can tell you for a good case from them you're talking $300+

Like I said in my first post, they assemble the computers here, I never mentioned that the parts themselves were from here. Besides I wasn't really refering to someone like you Kiki, I was mentioning it to those who do not know how to build a computer or those who need a computer pronto. Even if the parts are not domestic, just having the computer put together here is a step in the right direction. The problem with our economy is that we have too many "working poor". There are people who really depend on manufacturing jobs. To be quite blunt, I know people who just don't have the smarts to make it through college. I believe that maufacturing jobs should be here for those people. Manufacturing jobs should be here for someone to fall back on as well. I mean Delphi wanting to pay $9.00 an hour is considered at poverty level for a family of four.

A family of four can NOT be supported on $9.00/hr

Whoever sets these poverty levels needs to try and live on it.

If you have no goverment assitance you can. Hell one adult and a child is hard to do with $27,000...

All I have to say is this. When you go to bed at night I want you to stare up at the roof that gives you shelter, and say thank you to the blue collar guy that put it there.

Ok one more thing. I have grown up around construction, and have met many college grads who wouldn't make it a day on a job site. I see it every day in fact. College grad some where that dosn't have the common sence to hang a plasma tv on the wall. Heck I even talked to a college grad the other day, that tried hooking his 110 volt tv to a 220 volt outlet, and didn't understand why he fried the insides "I used the little adapter thingy".
