The Charger does not even have a manual option the challenger is supposed to be coming with a manual set up which will be nice.

Dodges automatic trannys suck, thats all... Hopefully they'll have a manual option on the new challengers. As for a manual tranny for the new chargers? Errr, forget it, they're kinda of a lost cause anyways.

I'm an anti-fan when it comes to dodges automatics (with a few exceptions.) :happy055:

Yeah, Dodge trannys have been kind of weak since they have stopped using the 727, 904, and A-833. Now, theoretically Dodge could put a manual in a Charger easily if the Challenger has a manual because they will be on a new LY platform.

Right now from trolling car message boards and mags. It seems that Chrysler is trying to see what kind of response the Challenger gets at auto shows, message boards, and other media. Also, the Charger sales numbers were low, not quite a flop, compared to what they thought the sales numbers would equal. And of course the Mustangs are a huge seller.

If they have a manual transmission option, the sells will come.

Yeah, i read about the challenger going to have a 500 horse hemi, that would be sweet. It would compete with the Mustang GT500. I also about it have a manual so thats a HUGE plus. I hate that dodge hasnt been puting manuals in anything, makes the cars slower. That camaro now... the front of the car looks like the Caddy XLR. But they really need to make a camaro and sooner that 2009.... its the only way GM will be able to compete.

Automatics have their places (ie drag strip), but manuals give you more control and are just overall funner to drive.

The main problem with automatics is that they're tailoring them to pansies. Your typical mommy or metrosexual isn't going to like a firm, boot in the ass shifting automatic. If automatics were more like the old Chrysler 727s, Ford C4, C6s, and GM TH-350 and TH-400, that'd be just fantastic. I wouldn't mind an automatic in a sports car if it offered a tiptronic shifter like Porsche, a full manual/automatic valvebody, and a good strong shift. They can rival manuals in the fun to drive category.
